Sensory receptors are structures specialized in acquiring of information, such as pH, temperature, mechanical pressure, chemical atmosphere and luminosity, transmitting them to the central nervous system. Sensory receptors might be specialized cells, example, the photoreceptors of retina, or specialized interstitial structures, for illustration the vibration receptors of the skin. In last case they transmit information to dendrites of sensory neurons joined to them.
