NTT DoCoMos i-mode refers to the mobile internet (as opposed to wireless internet) service popular in Japan. Unlike, the Wireless Application Protocol or WAP, i-mode includes a wider variety of the internet standards, involving the web access, email and packet switched network which delivers the data. I-mode have access to different services like sports results, email, weather forecast, financial services, games and the ticket booking. Content is given by the specialized services, normally from the mobile carrier that enables them to have the tighter control over the billing.
