Coeloms are cavities delimited by mesoderm. Coeloms initiate the cavities where inner organs of the body are located, such as the pericardial cavity, pleural cavity and the peritoneal cavity. Besides coelomate animals, there are acoelomate animals, such as platyhelminthes, and pseudo coelomate animals, similar to nematodes.
