Synthetic auxins , just like the indolebutyric acid (IBA) and naphthalenic acid (NAA) are the substances same as that of the IAA (a natural auxin) however artificially made. Some are used in order to accelerate the methods of asexual reproduction (such as the grafting or budding) and others are even used as the herbicides as they selectively kill some of the plants (mainly dicots).
