The embryonic sac refers to the female gametophyte of the angiosperms. The embryonic sac generally composed of three cells which remain next to micropyle, two lateral synergids and the central oosphere (egg); the polar nuclei, one binucleated cell, is placed within the central region; three antipodal cells remain in the opposite side to micropyle. As all these cells come through the mitosis from the functional megaspore they are haploid (n).
