Through prophase the following events take place: migration of each and every centriole pair (that is, centrioles were duplicated in interphase) to opposite cell poles; aster formation about the centriole pairs; making of the spindle fibers among the two centriole pairs; disintegration of the nucleolus; end of chromosome condensation; breaking of the karyotheca; scattering of condensed chromosomes in cytoplasm; binding of chromosomes into spindle fibers.
