Enhanced Messaging Service or EMS, is defined as a cross-industry collaboration between the Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, Siemens and Alcatel, among the others. It refers to an application-level extension to the Short Message Service (SMS) for cellular phones available on the TDMA, GSM and the CDMA networks.
