It too secretes the human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG, which acts in the same to the hypophyseal LH), human placental lactogen, same as that of prolactin and stimulant of mammary glands, and a series of the hormonal peptides similar to hormones of the hypothalamus-hypophysis axis.
