The autonomic nervous system is divided into the
a) Parasympathetic nervous system and
b) Sympathetic nervous system.
The sympathetic nervous system emerges the nerves which come out from the ganglia of neural chains that are lateral to the spinal column near by the spinal cord and therefore, are distant from the tissues they innervate.
