What is the basic difference between PAT and NAT?

NAT is Network address Translation (that is, IP address translates from local IP to global IP and vice-versa). PAT is Port address translation (that is, ports are translated from local to global IP's) similar to on port 8080 web service port 80 will work on PAT. This is more over NAT only.
