Nymphs are larvae of the hemimetabolic insects (grasshoppers). They are incredibly similar to adult insect though smaller. In the holometabolic insects (butterflies) larva creates a cocoon (chrysalis, pupa) where it lives till emerging in adult form. Imago is name given to adult form of insects with indirect growth.
