Expert
Neoplasia is any abnormal and un-controlled proliferation of cells of the anorganism. Neoplasias can be malign or benign. Benign neoplasias are those in that the cell proliferation is limited to a given site of body and so neoplastic cells don’t spread to other close regions or at distance throughout the circulation. Malign neoplasias are those in that the neoplastic cells distribute at distance to other sites and organs of body, a process named metastasis, where they continue to proliferate.
Malign neoplasias damage tissues and if not eliminated they are fatal. Benign neoplasia can also be deadly when it forms a tumor which grows and compresses very important organs.
