Tubular secretion is the passageway of substances from blood capillaries which surround the nephron tubules to the tubular lumen for such substances to be excreted with urine. Ammonia, potassium, uric acid, bicarbonate and hydrogen ions, metabolic acids and bases, different ingested drugs (or medicines) and other substances are secreted through nephron tubules.
