Resource Reservation protocol or RSVP is employed to reserve resources across a network. It is employed for requesting a vague Quality of Service (QoS) from network. This is completed by carrying the request (which requires a reservation of resource) of the host all through the network. It visits each and every node in network. RSVP employed two local modules for reservation of resources. The admission control module verifies when there are adequate available resources whereas policy module ensures for the permission of making a reservation. RSVP provides scalability. On successful completion of both checks RSVP employs the packet classifier and packet scheduler for desired Qos requested.
