Common Language Specification is the set of basic rules that should be pursued by all .NET language to be a .NET- compliant language. It permits interoperability among two .NET-compliant languages. CLS is a subset of CTS; so the languages that are supported by CLS could use each other's class libraries similar to their own libraries.
