Expert
ASP is Active Server Pages which is also known as Classic ASP. It is a Microsoft's server-side technology that helps in creating user-friendly and dynamic Web pages. It uses different scripting languages to make dynamic Web pages that could be run on every kind of browser. The Web pages are made by using either JavaScript or VBScript and these Web pages have access to the similar services as Windows application, as well as ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) for database access, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) for e-mail, and a entire Component Object Model (COM) structure used in a Windows environment. ASP is implemented by a dynamic-link library (asp.dll) which is called by a IIS server when the Web page is requested from a server.
