Cephalization is an evolutionary tendency of concentration of nervous command in the central structures in which there are group of neurons (that is, brain and ganglia formation). Evolutionarily the cephalization procedure starts with the appearance of ganglia (that is, group of neurons) in platyhelminthes and reaches an apex in the vertebrates, animals with a cranial box to defend the well-developed brain.
By lateral symmetry the body can be classified into lateral portions, inferior, superior, anterior and posterior.
