Project Priorities:
A) Remember the performance “triangle”
B) Effective project managers know the importance of forcing a prioritisation between these criteria, rather than merely saying all are equally important.
C) We now add a further dimension to create a project priority matrix
D) It is useful to force priorities between the 3 performance criteria, even if this is difficult to do.
E) To do this, one can decide:
- which of the criteria should be constrained i.e. fixed and not changeable
- which should be enhanced i.e. optimised, so adding value
- which should be accepted i.e. could tolerate not meeting the original objectives
