Procurement: To state procurement generally, “Procurement” is the overarching function which explains the actions and processes to obtain goods and services. Significantly, and distinct from “purchasing”, procurement comprises the activities included in establishing fundamental needs, sourcing activities like market research and vendor assessment and negotiation of contracts. This can also comprise the purchasing activities needed to order and receive goods.
