Define Fault Analysis

Fault Analysis: It is also termed as fault tree analysis, and is a technique used to determine the different chains of effects which would cause a system to fail, compromising protection or stability. Engineers frequently use fault analysis for safety or hazard assessments. In fault analysis, complicated relationships between software, hardware, and humans are examined with techniques derived from Boolean algebra, reliability theory and probability theory. The ultimate product of fault analysis is logical, visual diagram symbolizing any potential failure which a system might suffer, or existing failures which already have occurred and why they have occurred.
