Define data link layer in OSI reference model responsible? Data link layer is situated above the physical layer, however below the network layer.

Taking raw data bits and wrapping them into frames. The network layer will be accountable for addressing the frames, whereas the physical layer is accountable for retrieving and sending raw data bits.
