Correction systems in cells

Mistakes might happen throughout every copying procedure. The similar is true for DNA replication. Are there any correction systems in cells which try to fix such mistakes? Beneath which condition are the mistakes taken just by the individual owner of the cell in which the mistake has occurred and in which condition are they transmitted to the other individuals?

The cell is prepared with an enzymatic system which tries to fix mistakes of the DNA replication procedure. This system though is not totally efficient.

The DNA replication mistakes are kept in original individual where the failure takes place whenever the phenomenon influences somatic cells. When a replication mistake takes place in the formation of a germline cell (example, in gametes) the DNA alteration might be transformed to the offspring of an individual.
