Coronary bypass graft
Give a brief description of the term coronary bypass graft?
Expert
Coronary artery bypass graft is a type of surgical myocardial revascularization that is, a manner to supply blood to a myocardium whose blood supply is blocked or impaired because of coronary disease. In this surgical treatment of the coronary disease one or more blood vessel grafts taken from other divisions of the body are employed to join the obstructed artery (in a region after the obstruction) with the aorta or further healthy coronary artery therefore re-establishing the blood flow to myocardium. Often the blood vessel grafts are part of the saphenous vein from leg or of mammary artery from chest or even of the radial artery from forearm.
