The cytoskeleton is a network of much small tubules and filaments distributed all through the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. It is made up of microtubules, micro-filaments and intermediary filaments.
Microtubules are made by molecules of a protein termed as tubulin. Microfilaments are made up of actin, similar protein which participates in the contraction of muscle cells. Intermediate filaments are made up of protein too.
