Amphibians are fully aquatic in larval stage and partially terrestrial animals when adults and due to these facts they are considered as an intermediate being in the evolutionary passage of the vertebrates from aquatic to dry land habitat. Amphibians can also be considered as the first tetra pod animals, having first with two pair of limbs, a typical characteristic of the terrestrial vertebrates. Their name ‘amphibian’ is derived due to double life (aquatic being larvae and partially terrestrial being adults) of these animals.
