Chemical substances which compose the plasma membrane
Write down the chemical substances which compose the plasma membrane?
Expert
The major constituents of plasma membrane are phospholipids, proteins as well as carbohydrates. The amphipathic, phospholipds molecules, are regularly organized in membrane consistent with their polarity: two layers of phospholipids form lipid bilayer with the polar part of phospholipids pointing to exterior of layer and non-polar phospholipid chains in interior. Proteins can be found embedded in lipid bilayer and there are also some carbohydrates bound to proteins and to phospholipids in outer countenance of membrane.
