The amphipathic, phospholipds molecules, are regularly organized in membrane consistent with their polarity: two layers of phospholipids form lipid bilayer with the polar part of phospholipids pointing to exterior of layer and non-polar phospholipid chains in interior. Proteins can be found embedded in lipid bilayer and there are also some carbohydrates bound to proteins and to phospholipids in outer countenance of membrane.
