Cellular site where translation occurs-define anticondon
How amino acids brought to cellular site where translation occurs? And also give a brief explanation of anticodon.
Expert
The Amino acids are brought to ribosomes by the RNA molecules recognized as transfer RNA, or tRNA. One tRNA closed to its specific amino acid binds by the special sequence of the three nucleotides to an mRNA codon exposed in ribosome. This sequence in tRNA is recognized as anticodon. The tRNA anticodon should be corresponding to the mRNA codon to which it binds, consistent with the rule CG, A-U. The ribosome then slides along the mRNA molecule (a procedure called translocation) to expose the subsequent codon to binding of other tRNA. When amino acids equivalent to neighboring codons bind through peptide bond the first tRNa is released.
