Define Cellular digital packet data?
Expert
Cellular Digital Packet Data (or CDPD) was a wide-region mobile data service that employed unused bandwidth normally employed by AMPS mobile phones among 800 and 900 MHz to transfer data. Speeds upto 19.2 kbit/s were possible. The service was stopped in conjunction with the retirement of the parent AMPS service; this has been functionally substituted by faster services like EV-DO, 1xRTT, and UMTS/HSPA.
