Cnidarians are diploblastic, that is they existed only ectoderm and endoderm. With the exception of poriferans, all residual animals are triploblastic. Poriferans do not present distinguished tissue organization and therefore they do not categorize regarding germ layers (though sometimes they are stated as diploblastic).
