Cascading update in DBMS
What do you understand by the term cascading update in DBMS?

Referential integrity constraints need that foreign key values in one table correspond to primary key values in any other. When the value of the primary key is altered – i.e., updated -- the value of the foreign key must instantly be changed to match it. Cascading updates will setup this alter to be done automatically by the DBMS when essential.
