Expert
Haemoglobin “likes” carbon monoxide (CO) more than it likes the oxygen. When there is carbon monoxide in the inhaled air it gets binds to the haemoglobin resulting in the formation of the car-boxy-haemoglobin by occupying the binding site where oxygen would bind. Because of higher affinity of haemoglobin for carbon monoxide there is no transport of oxygen and individual may undergoes hypoxia, loses conscience, inhales more carbon monoxide and may even die. Intoxication thorough the carbon monoxide is a significant reason of various deaths in fires and within the closed garages.
