Capillaries are said to be the small blood vessels which performs the exchange of substances between blood and the body tissues. Capillaries cannot be arteries nor can they be veins as they have different attributes. Within the capillaries, the wall is made up of the single layer of endothelial cells through which the substances are exchanged. These vessels get the blood from arterioles and drain to venules.
