The term DMAIC encompasses five components; Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. The two of the above listed components have been described below:

Measure: It implies that the main characteristics and facets of a procedure and information gathered should be efficiently calculated. It encompasses putting together the information into a plan, carrying out the plan, and ensuring that all the facts were gathered appropriately. It helps to prepare a detailed project plan. This project plan acts as a framework in the later stages of the project to measure the actual quality with the desired quality, hence, it brings to light the fact that whether the actual quality levels have been achieved or not. I t also enables the company to identify procedures that have a negative impact on the quality if any.

Analyze: The measure stage is followed by the analysis stage in which the measured and collected facts are scrutinized to find out the cause-and-effect association of the progression in consideration. It is essential that all components are kept in mind while carrying out analysis. Moreover, the Analysis phase is frequently carried out by a Six Sigma Black Belt i.e. the Black Belt will show up the supposition on the root of the predicament in the practice.
