Anatomy - Study of internal structure

Anatomy deals with study of internal structure which can be observed with unaided eye after dissection. Anatomy is a branch of biology or medicine which is the consideration of the structure of living things. This is a general term which includes plant anatomy phytotomy, human anatomy or animal anatomy zootomy. In some of anatomy facets anatomy is related to comparative anatomy, embryology or comparative embryology.

Anatomy can be subdivided into microscopic anatomy and gross anatomy in the other words macroscopic anatomy. Microscopic anatomy is the study of minute anatomical structures that is assisted with microscopes, which includes cytology and histology. Gross anatomy is the study of anatomical structures which can be seen by unaided vision with the naked eye.
