Bile is stored and concentrated in the gallbladder. Whenever fat rich foods are ingested, the gallbladder contracts to discharge bile within the duodenum. (This is the main reason why patients with gallstones should not ingest fatty food; the reactive contraction of gallbladder might move various stones to the point of blocking the duct which drains bile into duodenum, causing pain and probable rigorous complications.)
