Penicillin, which is formed by the Scottish doctor Alexander Fleming in the year of 1928, is a drug which inhibits enzymes essential for synthesis of peptidoglycans, a constituent of bacterial cell wall. With inhibition the bacterial population stops rising since there is no new cell wall formation. Fleming won the Nobel Prize in the Medicine for innovation of the penicillin.
