What is meant by acrosome of the sperm cell? Explain its formation?

The acrosome refers to the structure which consists of the large number of digestive enzymes, it is situated within the anterior end of sperm cell and it is made by the union of Golgi apparatus vesicles. The role of acrosome is to liberate its enzymes whenever the sperm cell meets the egg cell in order to break the external covering of female gamete hence, forming the fecundation possible.
